Hab gerade die Craigslist Rochester nach Jobs fuer meinen Mann durchstoebert und das hier gefunden:

Painter/Maintenance/General Labor (Downtown Rochester) We are a 45 year old company that engages support, maintenance and remodeling activities for residential homes. Candidates must be able to deliver an honest day's work for an honest day's pay. ***Starting Pay is $10-13 per hour based on experience, quality of work and performance. Subsidized Health Insurance AVAILABLE after probationary period!***

Our solid customer base keeps our employees busy year round. We are looking for healthy, self starters that can follow written and verbal directions, anticipate the next steps and strive to impress our clients. You will be required to show up on time, learn quickly and hustle. This is a direct labor position: we all get dirty, so you will get dirty. We all get hot or cold, so you will be hot or cold. We all work hard, so you will need to work hard. If you are looking for a cushy office job, this isn't for you. If you want to work hard and be able to look back and admire your work at the end of the day and be proud of what you accomplished, this may be for you.

In this job you will be required to show up on time, ready to work. You need to have your own car and a valid NYS driver's license. You won't be driving all over town, but occasionally you may need to drive between different sites during the day.

You need to available for work between the hours of 7:30 am and 6:00 pm; Monday through Friday (occasionally weekends). This is a 40 hour plus per week commitment, rain or shine and you will be required to dress for it.

You will be required to wear safety toe boots at all times. You need to be comfortable on ladders and be able to handle a 32 foot extension ladder by yourself. You must be able to maintain a clean and safe working environment for yourself, other team members and our customers. You will need to be able to carry at least 80 lbs and know how to use a broom, shovel and wheelbarrow. You will need to put tools away when you are done with them. You will be held accountable for your actions.

You will be required to pass a DRUG TEST and follow the company's Drug & Alcohol Policy.

You will be paid based on your performance and your experience. YES, YOU NEED TO HAVE SOME EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE. If you have only worked on your own home or for family, this experience will not be considered. We get involved in ALL trades; excavation, masonry, framing, siding, electric, trim, plumbing, painting, roofing, etc, etc. CANDIDATES MUST AT LEAST HAVE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR PAINTING EXPERIENCE. Everything else is a bonus. We will teach the right candidates, but candidates MUST come to the table with some experience. If you learn fast, you will excel.

If you are looking for variety, we definitely have that to offer. No two days are ever exactly the same! Our goal is to produce a solid, well rounded, team of "Whatever it takes to get the job done" individuals, that will allow our company to grow. As our company grows, there will be room for advancement for our top tech's. Training is hands on and on the job.

YOU CAN'T EXPECT SKILLED TRADESMAN THAT ARE LOOKING FOR WORK TO ACCEPT $13/HR UNLESS YOU'RE WILLING TO INCREASE THE PAY TO ATLEAST $20 WITH IN 2 TO 4 WEEKS MAX AND THAT'S STRETCHING IT!

Irgendwie hab ich sowieso das Gefühl die Arbeitgeber haben hier die Ansicht das der Angestellte hier ihnen "gehört"!!
Alles sollen sie fúr sowenig Geld wie möglich machen.
ich hab ja erst vor einer Woche angefangen, aber schon jetzt fragen sie, ob ich nicht auch noch Dienstags von 12-16:30 arbeiten kann....obwohl ich sofort gesagt haben, das diese Zeit definitiv nicht geht, da ich dann mein Kinder von der Schule abholen muss (ausserdem hat mein Sohn dann noch Fussball und ich muss mit den Hausaufgaben helfen....,klappt also gar nicht!)
Und Überstunden werden hier auch nicht gern bezahlt, huh?? Komischerweise ist es gar nicht möglich bei meiner Arbeit pünktlich fertig zu werden....ich hab jetzt JEDESMAL ne halbe Stunde für nix gearbeitet, einmal sogar eine ganze Stunde!!
wenn das mal vorkommen würde, ok...aber ständig???
also das Arbeitssystem hier ist schon extrem gewöhnungsbedürftig..... :(

Das ist ja nun auch eine Frage der persoenlichen Disziplin. Ich weiss ja nicht, was du machst, aber man/frau muss dann auch bereit sein, Arbeit bis zum naechsten Tag liegen zu lassen. Und/oder an Tagen wo man tatsaechlich mal frueher fertig wird auch das Selbstverstaendnis haben, frueher zu gehen.

Meine Arbeitgeber sind/waren da eigentlich immer recht flexibel.
 
Und wir haben ein Zeiterfassungssystem, da wird jede Ueberminute bezahlt (nur bei mir nicht, denn ich bin auf "salary" und nicht Stundenlohn). Und so kenne ich es auch von ganz vielen Firmen hier.

Tja, ich kann ja mal versuchen, die gute Frau nackig im Lifter hängen zu lassen und einfach sagen...so, hab jetzt feierabend. Ich wasch sie dann morgen weiter!
