Tja, da fällts mir immer schwer Mitleid zu haben. Wer mit wilden Tieren arbeitet, ist in permanenter Gefahr, das was passiert. Dieser Gefahr muss sich jeder Tier-Trainer bewusst sein, und da kann ich dem Wal als letztem einen Vorwurf machen...

Seh ich ganz genau so. Der Vater von meinem ersten BF war Raubtier Dompteur und wurde von 2 Tigern zerfleischt... das ist halt das Risiko, welches man eingeht.

Ich bin eh gegen all diese Mistshows... lasst doch Tier Tier sein.. geeez.... wuerd ja mal interessant sein, wenn die Tiere UNS so rumdressieren wuerden...

Dem Wal wird sicher nicht viel passieren... er hat nur "natuerlich" gehandelt... denn so killen sie ja Robben. Er wird evt. in einen anderen Zoo gebracht... ich hoffe ja, dass sie ihn einfach mal "Wal" sein lassen.. ohne diese Mistshows... die sind naemlich nur

Fred Felleman, a marine consultant in Seattle, Washington, said keeping the social animals in what amounts to isolation is bound to cause problems.

"The fact is we don't have the facilities to adequately accommodate not only the physical needs, the psychological and social needs of these animals," he told CNN affiliate KIRO-TV.

"We respect lions and wolves and wild dogs as fantastic things, but we don't go run into the Serengeti and try to jump on their back."

Jack Hanna, director emeritus of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in Ohio, told CNN he knew Brancheau and that she would want her work to continue.

"What happened is something that happens; it happens in our line of work," he said. "They are dangerous animals; they're wild animals."

He added that he hopes SeaWorld continues with the work it does with killer whales.

But a spokesman for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals called the death "a tragedy that didn't have to happen."

Jaime Zalac said the organization had called on SeaWorld "to stop confining oceangoing mammals to an area that to them is like the size of a bathtub, and we have also been asking the park to stop forcing the animals to perform silly tricks over and over again. It's not surprising when these huge, smart animals lash out."

Todesstrafe, der Wal hat eindeutig die Todesstrafe verdient

Würd mich ja nicht wundern, wenn das einige verlangen. Wildtiere bleiben immer Wildtiere und auch domestizierte Tiere sind unberechenbar und können und handeln, wie es ihr Trieb und Instinkt ihnen vorgibt. Deshalb läßt die Katze das Mausen nicht und deswegen gehen Hunde wildern.

Ich finde, man muss sich nicht wundern, wenn Tiere in Gefangenschaft ausrasten.
Kein Mensch weiss warum diese armen Tiere Killerwale genannt werden, die sind eigentlich friedlich und heisen Orca.
Ich erinner nur an die Delphindame, die sich in irgendeinem Zoo das Leben genommen hat, das muss man sich mal vorstellen. Tiere die Suizid begehen, wie furchtbar muessen sie vorher gelitten haben.

Leider werden trotzdem all zu oft die Tiere nach so einem incident getoetet... war doch glaub ich beim letzten Fall wo ein Orka nen Trainer getoetet hat auch so... die armen Tiere!

Uebrigens denke ich nicht, dass die Trainerin ueberhaupt Mitleid woellte, sie hat ihren Traum gelebt und das getan was ihr Spass gemacht hat, war sich sicher auch der Gefahr bewusst... RIP.

Ich kann mir beim besten Willen nicht vorstellen, dass sie einen Orca toeten... Wale sind doch geschuetzte Tiere... die kann man auch im Zoo nicht einfach abknallen....

Well, was kann man dazu sagen, es ist immer ein Risiko mit Tieren zu arbeiten. Dieser paragraph sagt alles....
